3 Tips To Be Noticed By A Headhunter

If your next job is in the hands of a research company, what do you need to do to capture their attention? Check out these 3 tips to increase your chances of getting a job via a Headhunter:

  1. Increase your visibility

One of the most effective ways to be recognized and identified as a talent is to actively participate in the dialogue within your industry. You don`t need to give speeches or lectures, but at least go to industry events or conferences. Having articles published or blog will also increase your visibility.

  1. Be consistently networking:

Many people talk about networking, few really do anything about it. Effective networking across your industry is a powerful way to increase your chances of getting noticed. Try to keep in touch with talented and well-connected colleagues and seek out other people you know are important within your market.

The most successful people network consistently over time. This type of behaviour is much more genuine and more prone to reward you than the ‘enthusiastic’ networking that people often end up trying when they need a job. So, don’t “network” only when you need a job. As a matter of fact, this is away less effective than networking while employed.

  1. Have a digital presence

LinkedIn and other social networking websites have changed some elements of job search process. Most headhunters will also use a myriad of online tools as part of their “long” list-building process. As a result, it is advisable to build up a compelling social media profile in several social media channels. Also make sure that any of your articles, industry reviews and / or media appearance are visible online.
