Course Overview

Course Duration And Delivery Mode

Delivery of the course is based on 20 hours face-to-face delivery per week over a period of 54 weeks, including 47 study weeks and 7 weeks of scheduled holidays.

Assessment Methods And Facilities

This course is delivered face-to-face, through a combination of tutorials and specialised training.

Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including of direct observation, product-based methods, portfolios, and. questioning. Assessment conditions will ensure a simulated industry environment when appropriate and prescribed.

Students have access to fully equipped classrooms, student computers, and both printed and online learning resources. Classrooms are spacious and supported with free internet access to enhance the learning experience.

Entry Requirements

Atlantis College of Management has the following entry requirements for CPC31320 – Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling:

  • Be at least 18 years of age and must have completed at least the equivalent of Year 12.
  • Meet minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements including:
    • Have an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old); or
    • Have studied in English for at least five years in an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States)
    • Have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or a substantial part of a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification within the last 2 years; or
    • Have successfully completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (Internal) and achieved a minimum CSPA scale score of 110.

Into the Qualification:

There are no formal entry requirements for the CPC3129 – Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling. While prior experience is not mandatory, learners may benefit from having foundational construction knowledge that can support their training outcomes.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners may pursue further study to enhance their technical expertise and expand their career opportunities within the construction sector.  Progression into higher-level education can support the development of advanced skills, contributing to long-term career growth.

Within these roles individuals are responsible for the interpretation of plans, preparing, selecting and handling material in accordance with industry standards.

Course Structure

This qualification comprises a total of 20 units of competency, including 17 core units and 3 elective units. The core units provide essential foundation skills and knowledge required across the construction industry. The elective units are selected to complement the core skill set and is aligned with job outcomes within the industry.

All units of competency have been chosen and designed to reflect current industry practices, standards and employer expectations. This structure ensures a balanced combination of knowledge and practical application.
