The CPC31020 – Certificate III in Solid Plastering is delivered over a total duration of 54 weeks, comprising 48 weeks of structured training and assessment and 8 weeks of scheduled holidays.

Assessment Methods And Facilities

This course is delivered face-to-face through a combination of tutorials, and industry-based training. The training is designed to stimulate real workplace conditions and support the development of industry-relevant skills.

Assessment is conducted using a variety of methods including direct observation, outcome-based analysis, portfolios and a variety of questioning techniques.

Entry Requirements

Atlantis College of Management has the following entry requirements for CPC30620 – Certificate III in Painting and Decorating:

  • Be at least 18 years of age and must have completed at least the equivalent of Year 12.
  • Meet minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements including:
    • Have an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old); or
    • Have studied in English for at least five years in an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States)
    • Have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or a substantial part of a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification within the last 2 years; or
    • Have successfully completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (Internal) and achieved a minimum CSPA scale score of 110.
Pathways
Into the Qualification:

Entry in the CPC30620 – Certificate III in Solid Plastering may be supported by lower-level qualifications such as the CPC20120 – Certificate II in Construction but is not mandatory. This pathway allows learners to gain establish foundational construction knowledge, practical skills and an overall understanding of workplace health and safety requirements relevant to the industry.

From the Qualification:

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners may choose to further evolve and develop their skills through progression into higher-level studies.

This pathway supports advancements into roles that involve site supervision, project coordination and overall construction management.

Employment:

Graduates of this qualification may seek employment within the painting and decorating sector of the construction industry.

Course Structure

This qualification comprises a total of 20 units of competency comprising of 15 core units and 5 elective units. The core units provide essential foundation skills and knowledge required across the construction industry in addition to developing specialised trade competencies in Solid Plastering. The elective units are selected to complement the core skill set and is aligned with job outcomes within the industry.

All units of competency have been chosen and designed to reflect current industry practices, standards and employer expectations. This structure ensures a balanced combination of knowledge and practical application.
